  1. Wife made some mini bagels this morning. She's not Jewish, but I am. So grew up always having bagels around. Like I told a friend last week when I asked for $70 he owed me: I'm not at all religious, but I fully embrace the cheapness and bagels.
  2. I wouldn't put much weight in it if it's the dealer saying it. Probably just trying to motivate people to buy up the 2 doors.
  3. The drive wasn't really that bad. We paid for a GPS audio guide (Shaka Guide) and stopped at many of the suggested sites. I had 3 kids (10, 13, 15) with us and nobody complained about the length. Though my 13yo gets car sick and vomited after about the first 90 min of twists and turns. I thought it was a cool. Lots of nice waterfalls and other nice scenery. You do have to have reservations for the black sands beach, and that was the coolest part. We left around 9AM and got to the beach around noon. Our reservation was for 1:30PM, but they let us in early because it wasn't that busy.
  4. From Facebook, so it must be true? Stopped at the Jeep dealership today where the general manager told me that Jeep is discontinuing the two door Jeep after 2025. That means if you don’t order this year when 2025 jeeps can be ordered you’re out of luck. They’re not advertising this. Told my new 2024 two door wrangler will appreciate in value once they stop making them. That’s messed up. They didn’t say this to me to push me to buy because I already bought a new 2024 two door (special order) from them last week. They said if they get a two door, they can’t move it because everyone wants a four door.
  5. We rented from National at the airport where you just pick from what they have. It was 3 Jeeps and a couple crossover SUV's.
  6. Agree with this! I used to work for Caltech (20 years ago) and the cafeteria had a wood burning pizza oven. Pizza's were very cheap, I think $4 for a nice size pizza. They were always abstract shaped, oval-ish. One of my co-workers asked if they could make it round and they rudely replied, NO! My wife usually makes them detroit style in a rectangle pan so you don't have to deal with shape.
  7. At the black sand beach.
  8. So here's your average highway experience in Maui. We were driving to Hana and spotted that we were behind 3 other Jeeps and had one behind us. Told my wife I felt like we were in a caravan up to Big Bear. Definitely a suitable vehicle for Maui. Lots of tight roads and ended up parking in a few places that most vehicles wouldn't have been able to.
  9. We got an Airbnb condo in Naalaea. Nice area so far. Got an off road trip planned for Tuesday, side by side.
  10. I'm in Maui this week. With 3 kids, we usually end up in a minivan or large SUV. Walk up to the rentals and spotted 2 Rubis and one Sport. Quickly joked that we should grab a Rubi while we can. Then find out that's the largest vehicle available, so cool with me haha! Wife commented that it was easier getting all our luggage in the Jeep. Everyone fit (though maybe too close to prevent fights from happening). After a day of driving it, started joking about trading my 3 month old Ram 1500 for one. Wife reminded me WE WILL NOT HAVE 3 JEEPS! Getting more irritated when I was joking about renting 35" tires and a lift. Impressed that they had Rubi's available and not just Sports. Seems to be the most popular vehicle on the island. Liking it so far and will be taking the front tops off at least.
  11. Samsung is doing a deal for a smart watch. $99 if you trade one in. I just ordered one. https://www.samsung.com/us/watches/galaxy-watch-fe/buy/galaxy-watch-fe-40mm-silver-bluetooth-sm-r861nzsaxaa/
  12. It was pretty impressive. I do see how someone could panic a bit if they weren't expecting to see something like that. Most of us (our 15 yo couldn't be bothered, go figure) sat outside and made smores. Definitely going to try to watch the launches in the future if the timing is right.
