Redline
Has anybody put the Currie conversion bushing/joint into stock diff or specifically a dynatrac60? After putting together a jeep with Currie and seeing how much easier it is plus not having to deal with bushing bind, I want to do it on my jeep. So wondering if it’s a P.I.A. Or if it’s just basically like swapping bushings. Link to comment
Weebz
I have never done a swap but I have replaced the axle bushing and it’s a bitch! Older the bushing the worse it is. Link to comment

I would imagine the passenger side on a Dynatrac60 would be pressing in a JJ on that side too as long as it has a bracket that's thicker than paper. The "kit" curry had for the TJ/LJ 44 had a big steel shank that you welded in after you cut the old bracket down to about 1.5" above the tube. 1 Link to comment

Older the bushing the worse it is. I cheated. I drilled a bunch or holes through the middle bushing then used an air chisel to kind of "fold itself in on itself". I only did the upgrade because I had JJ's everywhere else. The passenger side was a little easier (with a saw). 1 Link to comment
Weebz
I pressed out the bushing and had an air chisel and all other instruments of destruction. Ultimately had to gently cut with a hack saw blade and peel it back from that. Those casings weren’t coming out. 1 1 Link to comment
Guest
Now you all got me thinking to replace the bushings with JJoints before I install the axles again. Does the Currie work on both sides of the axle housing? Dana 44. Link to comment

Gruff
This is why I ordered my Fusion set with replaceable joints. All these little things you figure out as you go along 1 Link to comment
Guest
So I am thinking this would be the better solution rather than trying to fit a new JJ on the passenger side? Link to comment
AJK
Like this Devin? https://genright.com/products/johnny-joint-for-upper-link-on-axle.html This is for a D30 and 44 but I bet Currie has for the 60. 1 Link to comment

Yes - this is the joint Fusion uses on their D60 front if you ask for it. 3 Link to comment
