Dude those are clean. I would put up for at least 7.

I;m going to put them up for 7.5 and let them talk me down (like they always do) so they feel good. 🤣

Going to place my order for tons to get the clock started ticking. They are 60-75 days out currently.

I dont think there is a major difference. If you want Es get what you want now. Dont do what I did and buy something you really dont want.

I am putting the order in to Currie tomorrow and bouncing back and fourth on 60 or 70 rear right now with 40 spline. How much more is it with ECGS going from 35 to 40 spline?

Just go 70. Or i hope you did at this point haha.

I dont see why you wouldnt get the 80 rear…40 spline 60 moves the weak point to r&p… even tho im a believer (because i have to be with a low pinion 60 PR rear lol) of the lp rear 60, if id have known id be where i am today i would have opted for the 80. Plenty of people run 40s on 80s so i dont believe the ground clearance issues is as big as some people make it to be in my humble opinion

Well it looks like things are moving forward with my build.  I just took a deposit on my current axle set and the buyer is really excited.

Talked with Matt today and it seems like I am narrowing down a set of axles that covers all the bases for me. Thanks Matthew for all of the guidance and help. 👍

Right now I’m looking at 14 bolt rear with 13 bolt shave, 40 spline with a Dana 60 kingpin front.  The 14 bolt with the 13 bolt shave will still give me more ground clearance than a Dana 60 along with the addedring and pinion strength.  Looks like ARB’s are in my future.

Things are moving forward and parts are starting to come in.  I put the 40’s on that I had since I sold my 37 beadlock setup.  New beadlocks are at the powder coater this week getting the color treatment.

Just got these in from Motobilt this morning.  Got to put the hinges on this weekend and check how good the line up is on them and the body.  I was on a waiting list and got first crack and a nice discount from them.  Any of you local guys have a recommendation for a painter for these?  I’m located in Phillips Ranch (Pomona) CA.

Those doors look nice. As for painting, I just brought mine down to the local body shop.  Bring your Jeep down on a sunny day so they can match the paint. Even having the paint code, my guys came up with 5 or 6 samples. We picked the one that best matched the 10 year old paint on my Jeep.

Thanks.  Yeah its nice to finally have a more “complete” aluminum aftermarket half door option, and at a reasonable price.  They are even offering 10% off on all products for the holiday weekend.  Motobilt has been doing a great job for us Jeep guys bringing new and competing products to market. That bobbed bed kit they recently came out with for the Gladiator is a thing of beauty.

I’ll just price them at a few local body shops and do what you said. I have to get my wife’s RAV4 hood repainted anyway so maybe I can get a package deal.  😂

Those look really nice . Being aluminum you won’t get that weird wavy look I get on my Rugged Ridge doors after painting due to the curved plastic layer . Can’t wait to see them painted and mounted .

Yeah really looking forward to trying them out.  I had been talking to Motobilt, prodding them and waited over a year for them to finally get into production.

They (Motobilt) are going to be sending me a bracket to allow for the use of my Rugged Ridge soft uppers also, which is an added plus.  I sold my Rugged Ridge doors this morning but kept the brand new set of uppers I have.

Not good.  Hopefully you are feeling better.

Thanks.  I just cant seem to catch a break lately.  Seems like every time I take a step forward I get knocked a step back.  No pun intended..  (Because of my crushed foot) 🤣

I thought I had covid for a while, but three negative tests over a week and a half put that hypothesis to rest.

Damm Kevin!!!

So I was able to get the doors out of the boxes and got them on the Jeep today.  After taking a good look at everything I am extremely impressed.  There was a ton of engineering as well as just plain work that went into these and I cannot fathom how they are able to sell them for what they are with the amount of work that went into them.  Every radius on the door jamb is bump formed, there’s a lot of forming, rolling and tig welding that went into these.

We basically do the exact same thing at my work and there is no way we could build them as nice and anywhere near the cost.  Big props to Motobilt.

Here’s a few photos.  I removed the inner door skins and only mounted the hinges for the photos.
