Just off the Rubicon Trail

Had some drama on Barrett Lake, tore the track bar off the axle end.

Thank God for the Karnage Welder, back on the trail in short order, then made the Rubicon with no problems.

Walked up Soup Bowl easier than I have seen it done.

Went up Old Sluice, that was fun.

Great trip with great friends.

Damm, it took the whole bracket ...Wow.

Original Dynatrac bracket. It's pretty thin, and doesn't seem to me to be well attached.

I have plans in mind for a Jerry proof one to replace it.

For now, the field fix  got through the Rubicon without any problem. Fordyce is the next test.

I need to get down there with you guys one of these days... It's only a 15 hour drive to the loon lake end of the Rubicon.

Yes, you do.

Figure next August. It's a yearly event.

Next year we are discussing coming in the other way, camp at Rubicon Springs, and run out to Loon and back, that way we go up Big Sluice, Old Sluice, and all the other things we usually come down.

I found the Dynatrac brackets on my old SF D60 axle to be meh. It was build in 2015. Found a couple broken welds on the LCA brackets. And it wasn't really wheeled all that hard.

Well, I am off to a start on the new upgrades.

I don't have time for the full DT 4 link before Sand Hollow, but the flat belly and skid plate are going in.

I had to do that, the factory cross member was bent so bad, the transmission and transfer case were slammed against the tunnel. Both yokes we're rubbing, and the frame side brackets were tearing loose.

First, out with the old. Fuel tank and cross member out.

I've heard people talk about bent cross members, but...... I bet no one has one worse than this.

Now on to the new cross members for the flat belly.

First the front, out with the old brackets, in with the new.

The trans mount goes on and does not stick down at all. Level with the frame. It is tight, but very solid.

The frame side brackets are fully welded, as is the transmission bracket.

I cut the exhaust, and will have to re route it after the fab work is done.

The main reason is the front upper mount won't clear where the "Y" pipe sits.

I may end up with a dual exhaust, but will cross that bridge later.

It was a busy day.

About damn time you give that poor jeep some love.  Bailing twine and duct tape only go so far.

Looking good.  Better be fully ready for Utah.   Don’t want any excuses.

Thanks

Quick question, what did you do to extend your fuel lines?
