The plan was for after Fordyce, to bring Vengeance to Dennis'house and work on the cage and rear suspension. 

 

Now the front axle rebuild is added to the list, as well as another rear driveshaft. 

 

We got a good start by emptying Vengeance of all the gear, and removing the Poison Spider sport cage, as well as cutting out the factory "cage".

 

The broken driveshaft is at the shop for rebuild, and next weekend the cage install begins.

That is where the Poison Spider sport cage was bolted to the floor. 

 

I'm really glad I never put it to a test. Not very confident on how it would have held up. 

 

I'm planning on tying the GenRight cage in to the frame in at least 3 places on each side.

Thinking about this for a color scheme for new seats.

 

Planning on stripping the black wrap to let the orange shine, and going with grey Steel-it paint for bumpers, sliders, cage, etc. 

 

Opinions?

How does Steel-it hold up? I've not seen anyone around here use it as a finish on automotive stuff. Spray or brushed on?

I ordered the spray. You can get cans to brush on as well. 

 

It's expensive. Supposed to hold up. It claims to make basically a stainless steel coating. 

 

TMR had it buy 8 get 4 free, so I did.

Shoot.  It’s not much more than a can of rattle paint at that deal.   VHT roll bar and chassis is what I use it is damn near 18 a can now itself.  I’ve always been curious about that stuff

it probably does hold up good out west. Stuff over here never seems to no matter what you do. Esp if you expose it to the winter weather and that brine shit they lay down even if there’s a hint of snow coming….

waiting on some reinforcements to help me load it in the back of the truck

Reinforcement, I have arrived always good to have great neighbors.

axle is loaded in the back of the pick up truck ready to be taken to the axle shop.
