Crawl2Camp
Planning to sign up for this, as it’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Any recommendations on run dates for those that have gone before? Fordyce is the main attraction but I know there are multiple days/runs as well. Link to comment
Jetlau3
I may join this year . Feel like have to do it once after running the Rubicon 3 times. Following 2 Link to comment

I signed up for Fordyce on Friday and then the Outer Limits on Saturday. Was about to pull the trigger on the River Run, but thought I’d mellow it out so the wife can get some seat time. fiend
I'm signed up for the Friday Fordyce run. I aways sign up for the Saturday River Run but I always end up bailing. This year I'll pre-bail and save the $30. Link to comment

While I agree, the only way to be sure the water crossings are passable is to do it during Sierra Trek. They have an agreement with PG&E to lower the water flow for the event. It's a long way to go only to find out the creek is over the hood, when you have 40s. 1 Link to comment
fiend
Don and I did it by ourselves one year. Totally different experience. But Sierra Trek is fun too. Link to comment

This is what it all comes down to, especially this year. There has already been chatter that they may actually have to move the event date this year, due to the massive/late snowfall the Sierra has been getting. Let’s all hope that is not the case, but we will see. It’s definitely a good thing to support Cal4Wheel. 1 Link to comment

Wasn't that the year that the dam and power station was under repair and the flows were low pretty much all the time? Link to comment

Yep. It’s been that way for a while. Historical flow data is available and can be used to predict a safe time to privateer the trail. But there is a crapshoot element if you’re coming from far away. https://www.dreamflows.com/graphs/yir.063.php 1 Link to comment
