Aluminum knuckles

Saw this on Youtube. Broken aluminum knuckle.  Burried in the comments is a statement from Rory that it was an "aftermarket" axle with an outstanding recall. Dynatrac, I assume.   Anyone running aluminum knuckles?  Do the JL or JT axles have them?

Brings back memories of the WAL shit storm back when the recall first came out. 

 

Byron had them. They were an optional upgrade to the XD 60 if I recall correctly. 

 

When the recall was announced, it was right after a Sand Hollow trip. 

 

He checked, and his were cracked. We were pretty sure it happened on "The Fallen", wedging our way up the huge crack.

Wow, I didn't know his were cracked. Good thing he caught it.

 

There's a company making aluminum knuckles for the Super Duty Dana 60 like I have.  Ford Super Duty 7075 Outer Knuckles (Special Order) – American Iron Offroad  Expensive as fuck.  Plus I don't know that I'd trust aluminum.

Yep.  One of mine was cracked.  No idea why...

 

 

They sent new ones and like $250 to R&R.

 

The part that frustrated me was that they waited over two years to publicly announce it.
