There are 6 of us in 2 vehicles . Me in the Jeep pulling the trailer and Marco in the cruiser . I think we will be okay . Going straight down to La bufadora on day 1 so skipping the border towns . 1 Link to comment
Jetlau3
towed the Xventure XV-2 over 1200 miles through Baja over the last 8 days . Didn’t get to properly shake down the Jeep or use the lockers but the alignment, handling , 5.38 gears are awesome . put a new heavy duty jockey wheel on the trailer and it’s a beast . Now just need to set aside a weekend in 2023 for some wheeling ! Happy new year y’all 1 2 Link to comment
Jetlau3
Looking to pick up a set of chains after borrowing Greers today. Anyone have recommendation on a decent affordable set and where to purchase ? What’s typical price I should expect ? 3 Link to comment

Jetlau3
Thanks Greer . I checked them out and got confused by the different options . I just picked up a set of 37x12.5 r17 titan chains off etrailer with a retainer for about $220 shipped didn’t want to spend more since I’m not 100% staying at this tire size or going up to 38s . Wonder if there is a big quality difference given some are in the $350-400 range . Figure will use these 1-2 times a year best: good to have in the Jeep for when they just check if you have them on the way to BB regardless 2 Link to comment
Jdofmemi
That looks like a good deal Dan. Also, it's easy to add a few links to make them git 38s if you go to them later. 1 Link to comment
Jetlau3
What kind of mileage do you all typically get out of your tires before performance starts to degrade . My coopers have 33k miles on them and are at between 12-13 32nds . Seems like there is more life left . since tires are so expensive, gonna run them for a bit longer Link to comment
Jdofmemi
Not counting mud, they are good for a while still. One Moab trip, a guy had the same Coopers as you, and maybe half the tread you have, or even less. He had plenty of grip, and zero issues. Link to comment

Jetlau3
New shoes . Finally pulled trigger on some 38s . Decided to have shop mount and balance for $50 a rim. Almost new spare is going on the trailer after I get a tire carrier and a spare wheel Rig went back to shop to fix leaker inner axle seal and front locker . Can we please go wheeling soon once this is all done ? Ready to hit some trails in March / April . Hopefully we can make Moab work. 5 Link to comment
fiend
Looking good. I see maybe an inch clearance to get that jeep into the garage. Link to comment
Jdofmemi
Looking good Dan! The 38s seem like a good compromise. I'm sure you will be happy with them. I took an hoping to get some local runs in before Moab. Link to comment
Jetlau3
Fun weekend camping with the Jeep and trailer up in the eastern sierras . Hit a few alpine lakes and did some dispersed camping up on Owen’s Gorge Road . Jeep feels great . Looking forward to the rubicon / fordyce in august 3 Link to comment

Jetlau3
Guilty of not posting here as often as I should .. favoring the WhatsApp . some updates . got the hepta mnf sliders welded on. First impression these are super beefy . The poison spider sliders I got used from Don did their part for 3 years but if it wasn’t for the skins, I bet I would have damaged the body since they were bent and touching on both sides . Pup (Fury) approves I also found a crack on the inside of my integrated hitch after towing the trailer on the last trip I knew I wasn’t supposed to be towing on this thing and was just playing with fire .. was checking it every time out of the car . So ordered up a hepta mnf bolt on rear bumper that allows use of the oem hitch receiver . Looks like this Brian’s and stand up dude and because I missed the July 4th discount, he is powdercoating this and shipping it to me free . Won’t get here until after the rubicon / fordyce. Need to figure out chase light mounting on the evo tire carrier (Jim checking your set up out ) , and how to mount the 7 pin trailer connector . So far best I’ve found is this Pollak adapter from a photo from that other forum . So that’s my plan . headed to monache meadows this weekend then rubicon with some of y’all the week after . Hell ya California summer Link to comment

Not sure how to mount it behind the bumper but maybe when I see the bumper mounted I’ll have better idea Link to comment
AJK
That crack almost looks like its just the cheap paint they wrap it in and not the metal. 1 Link to comment
