AJK's 17 Rubi

Shes done. Just need to adjust alignment and stance. She drove today and felt pretty good. Had to shave off some GR front bumper to clear on full tuck. The clearance is pretty close. I assume I will rub here and there in real world condition, and we will know soon.

Overall the RPM kit was pretty straight forward. The only thing I dont like on their kit is the bumpstop setup. I ended up fabricating my own mounts to contact better. But everything esle that came with the set like, towers, axles mount, arms, and 3rd link mount are made really well. Some stuff took a little grind here and there but for me that was expected.

The fox bumps are ECJ that went to Devin and now to me LOL.

We'll see how she performs.

Your Jeep looks awesome Alan!!!!! Seems like you might rub even more with the new set of tires.

I added a little bit of distance thinking about that but yeah I could add a slightly bigger shim to my Bump Stop to stop my up travel and for the bumper I can always take just a little bit more off. New tires are probably the next thing so that was in the back of my mind.

Looks awesome! No limit straps?

I have never ran limit straps BUT when I swap out for the 2.5s I will. The shocks are stopping the shock before the drive shafts binds now. The 2.5s are slightly longer per Kings measurements and at that point I will have no choice.

Well I made it to work this morning so lets call that the break in run LOL.  So far so good. Jeep just turned 36K. Defiantly time to sell.

Hopefully you are super happy with how it performs this time.

Yeah it drives different, I can feel it on the street already. We'll see soon enough.

Well good and bad news.

The Good...

The RPM kit is a mass improvement over what I had. Zero issue on the front. It just works!!!! I can only assume the rear 4 link will be just as  amazing...but I am holding off of that for now.

The Bad...

Shattered a johnny joint in the rear, sheard the bolt and destroyed the Evo bracket. Bent the bracket, wobbled out hole and neither one my lower JJs will unthread from the arms. Oh yeah, and all 8 joints were fucking toast.

The fix...

Rockjock took good care of me. Bought new left and right hand thread Narrow Joints and bungs for lowers. Cut off the Evo joint that were seized in at the welds and going to make new adjustable arms for lowers. This way I don't need to drop to adjust anymore.

For uppers just going to rebuild since they are adjustable.

For the axel, I cut off both Evo brackets and will replace with the new ones I have sitting around. The driver upper control arms bracket will be replaced to match the passenger I broke off last year since the axle is out. Also gonna throw on a new Artec track bar bracket I have sitting around. So basically all new brackets on rear as well.

We found a shit ton on bind in the rear was the issue. So when I put back together I am really gonna focus on that area.

Well Jeep is back up and running. Steven’s idea worked great. The lean issue I had is now gone and the jeep feels pretty good on the road.

I don’t know where I am going to go from here with this rig. I am 50/50 on keeping or selling it right now and see what comes into my path. I may test the market and see what happens.
