Where are you located? The reason I ask: I'm in CA and have heard that many places can't get Tri-tip. I had some work associates from out of state come out to help with some items. I took them to one of my favorite BBQ lunch spots that sells Tri-tip sandwiches. Most of them didn't know what Tri-tip was. I described it as steak and one of them said it's more similar to brisket.
